If you are like so many people "essay = nightmare", then don't worry you are not alone. There are some steps that you can take to help you "get thought" writing your essay. One of the most important steps to in writing an essay is to be organized. Here are some pre-essay writing tips to help you get started.

Step 1 - First schedule yourself time to work on your essay. The same way you schedule time with friends and work. You must also schedule time for writing your essay.

  • Get comfortable with coffee, tea or anything that you can use to relax
  • If possible were comfortable clothes
  • Plan to write your essay in a place that you find convent and comfortable
  • Try to schedule a time to write your essay when you are not tired, hungry etc

Step 2 - Try to develop positive thoughts about writing your essay. The more positive you are about writing your essay the easier it will be to write.

Step 3 - Find out the length of the essay. OK this sounds "stupid", but it is so common that people do not write the required amount. The person reading your essay doesn't not want to read 5000 words, if the assignment is for 2000 words.

Step 4 - Choose a topic for your essay, if possible (sometimes an assigned topic is required. If you are not lucky enough to choose a topic then if possible choose a sub-topic. Here are some steps to help you decide on a topic:

  • Choose a topic or a subtopic that interest you.
  • A topic or a subtopic that you will be able to acquire enough research. In other words don't choose a subject that you will not be able to find enough research sources.

Step 5 - Make a list of resource sources, some resource sources you might want to try are:

  • Professional Newspapers - Magazines
  • Government Documents
  • Published Articles & Documents
  • Encyclopedias and other reference sources.
  • Internet
  • Library
  • If possible interview people

Step 6 -Collect related information on your topic. Decide which information is use able and relevant which is irrelevant/useful.

How to Study English Well!!!

IMPROVE YOUR ENGLISH LEARNING SKILLS

Learning is a skill and it can be improved.

Your path to learning effectively is through knowing

  • yourself
  • your capacity to learn
  • processes you have successfully used in the past
  • your interest, and knowledge of what you wish to learn

Motivate yourself

If you are not motivated to learn English you will become frustrated and give up. Ask yourself the following questions, and be honest:-

  • Why do you need to learn/improve English?
  • Where will you need to use English?
  • What skills do you need to learn/improve? (Reading/Writing/Listening/Speaking)
  • How soon do you need to see results?
  • How much time can you afford to devote to learning English.
  • How much money can you afford to devote to learning English.
  • Do you have a plan or learning strategy?

Understanding how you learn best may also help you.

There are different ways to learn. Find out what kind of learner you are in order to better understand how to learn more effectively..

!Learning Tip - you may benefit from taking an active part in role plays or drama activities.

Here's How:

1-Remember that learning a language is a gradual process - it does not happen overnight.
2-Define your learning objectives early: What do you want to learn and why?
3-Make learning a habit. Try to learn something every day. It is much better to study (or read, or listen to English news, etc.) 10 minutes each day than to study for 2 hours once a week.
4-Remember to make learning a habit! If you study each day for 10 minutes English will be constantly in your head. If you study once a week, English will not be as present in your mind.
5-Choose your materials well. You will need reading, grammar, writing, speaking and listening materials
6-Vary your learning routine. It is best to do different things each day to help keep the various relationships between each area active. In other words, don't just study grammar.
7-Find friends to study and speak with. Learning English together can be very encouraging.
8-Choose listening and reading materials that relate to what you are interested in. Being interested in the subject will make learning more enjoyable - thus more effective.
9-Relate grammar to practical usage. Grammar by itself does not help you USE the language. You should practice what you are learning by employing it actively.
10-Move your mouth! Understanding something doesn't mean the muscles of your mouth can produce the sounds. Practice speaking what you are learning aloud. It may seem strange, but it is very effective.
11-Be patient with yourself. Remember learning is a process - speaking a language well takes time. It is not a computer that is either on or off!
12-Communicate! There is nothing like communicating in English and being successful. Grammar exercises are good - having your friend on the other side of the world understand your email is fantastic!
13-Use the Internet. The Internet is the most exciting, unlimited English resource that anyone could imagine and it is right at your finger tips.

Tips:

Remember that English learning is a Process Be patient with yourself. Practice, practice, practice

One day, he decides to throw a huge party. During the party he announces, "My dear guests, I have a proposition to every man here. I will give one million dollars or my daughter to the man who can swim across this pool full of alligators and emerge unharmed!" As soon as he finishes his last word, there is the sound of a large splash. The guests all turn to see a man in the pool swimming as fast as he can. They cheer him on as he keeps stroking. Finally, the swimming man makes it to the other side unharmed. The millionaire is so impressed, e says, "My boy, that was incredible! Fantastic! I didn't think it could be done! Well, I must keep my end of the bargain. Which do you want, my daughter or the one million dollars?" The man says, "Listen, I don't want your money. I don't want your daughter, either. Most of students think that learning English is difficult. It is the same as they learn Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Accounting. English looks like a horrible and frightening subject for the students. Is it true? To find the answer is actually not so difficult. Firstly the teachers should think the way how they teach. It is frightening the students or not. Secondly the methods the teachers use in teaching monotonuous or various. And finally whether the teachers know the students' need or not.

Solution:

1. Don't ever frighten the students with English. Ensure the students that English is not difficult. Assure them that you teach them in relax, unstressed atmosphere;

2. Apply various methods and approaches in teaching. Cosider the students' situation and condition. If tiring situation, try to refresh them. Don't give teaching learning process directly. Invite them to sing, for example. You can also perform games. Not related but it will make them fresh and cheerful again;

3. Try to know what your students want from you. Learning English in Laboratory, Library, Classroom, Open area, personally, in pairs or groupically.

And last but not least, motivate the students to study whatever the subject is.

Be a good teacher, be a fun teacher.
